Welcome to Newport S.W.A.T.

Our Scouts Water Activities Team provides sailing and other water activities to scouts in Newport, South Wales, and our friends in surrounding scout districts.

We offer...

Adult and youth taster sessions on Drascombe Luggers.
Scout and Explorer sessions on our RS Fevas.
Adult and Explorer powerboa
t training sessions.

160 cubs, scouts and explorers have sailed with us this season.

Visit our Bookings page for more info.

For adults interested in joining us, we will also be running sailing taster sessions on the Drascombe Luggers, moving on to dinghy sailing and safety boat skills later in the season. Typically your first season will be spent learning to sail and assisting with running scout sessions, and in your second season you may have achieved RYA qualifications and been assessed for Scout Leadership permits.

So if you are an adult in scouting in Gwent Area and you would like to try sailing with a view to joining our team just send us a message via our Contact Us page to get started. No previous sailing experience required.
